One of my first homes was on the fringes of Shoreditch in East London in the early seventies. It was an area of great contrasts, multi cultured full of history and great poverty lying next to the wealth of the City. It’s changed now and is almost unrecognisable full of multilayered and ever changing graffiti and a home for tourists and city boys out for a bit of fun .I was recently working commercially in an old studio near Brick Lane during the day and staying overnight in a modern capsule hotel so took to wandering about after dark trying to capture the strange once so familiar world I was surrounded by. Though intrigued I am not sure that I like what it has become .
